The hand-thrown porcelain body of the Celadon Crackle Deer Heads Vase has been baked and given a light thermic shock to create the lines serving as the texture in the celadon crackle glaze. Some lines on the pale green vase are darkened with real tea leaves while others are covered with black calligraphy ink to create depth in the porcelain. The complexity of the process required to create this vessel makes it an incredible example of artisanal expressiveness.
